Obama claimed his undergraduate diploma was in "Political Science and International Relations" (NY Times October 30 2007, Janny Scott) and elsewhere said it was in "national security" when Columbia only has an undergraduate department in Political Science. In Thompson's day, computer courses were taught by statistics, electronics, accounting and other departments. If anything, those people who learned how to apply computers to a real application did a lot better work than today's supposed "scientists". But which liberal media would challenge the professulas who invented Obama so they can continue to rape the taxpayer with their grant grubbing? The real JOKER is Gengis Icahn who tore down Yahoo to elevate the Big Brother Gog Google. Yahoo had Briefcase long before anyone dreamed of clouds but he shut it down. Yahoo Shopping and Wallet were decimated because they competed with Ebay and Paypal. Even the sophisticated boolean language of AltaVista was destroyed so we all depend on Google's hidden deal which let trial lawyers give you false science so you can hire them. This Icahn Loeb Casuistry only reminds me of Elliot Sputzer.

BTW, if this was really a "genuine review" you would have mentioned the no multitasking limitation. I know the Cablevision folks are going to say that they take over the entire screen to assure proper resolution. However, there are tons of apps that run just fine in their own windows with the resolution of the window adjusted for the app (games, PC emulators on the Mac, etc.)

I don't mind that they want this to perform only on an internal display. What I do mind is that the app takes over the entire computer and doesn't run in its own window, so it's impossible to multitask while running this app. Since you can only use it in your own home, I'm assuming that most people would use this for the same reason as me (to watch TV while you're doing other things on your laptop). However, the app will only let you watch TV so what's the sense? It's just another run of the mill failure for Cablevision and confirms what I've always said - 'Cablevision sucks!"

I’m sure Cablevision Optimum users are happy that they have another way of watching their channel in their home. One thing that I hear often is that Cablevision customers wish they were able to watch their channels without having to be home. I know the advantages of being able to watch when and where I want because I use Dish Online when I have my laptop with me. Last week, a few co-workers and I at Dish watched the latest Saturday Night Live episode. I usually catch up on my shows while I am at school waiting for class to start, but it was nice being able to see it without having to be home.

I really need to replace my laptop, and I just hate how this is a bad time to buy since there so many new developments with Ultrabooks, now the new Intel processor and Windows 8. Despite having so many decisions, I still like to look, and hope the newer models don’t go up too high in price. I want something lighter for traveling for my job with DISH. I want a good battery life for watching the tens of thousands of shows and movies on dishonline.com when I’m gone too. Perhaps two batteries is better than one in all cases, because that is what I do now with my laptop.

My question would be, do the Comcast options offer as much HBO content as the HBOGO app does? The HBOGO app offers a ton of content that I haven’t seen available on most providers own “On Demand” apps or services. I still don’t really understand why a provider would choose to block their customers access to services they already pay for. If you have Comcast, and pay extra for HBO, shouldn’t you be able to use something that adds more value to service, especially when it is offered by HBO in the first place? Thankfully I don’t have that concern because I have service from my employer DISH. Not only do they support third party apps like HBOGO, they have their own DISH Remote Access app which allows customers to watch live TV and DVR recordings anywhere they want. Every TV provider has talked about some kind of TV anywhere service over the past few years. In my experience, DISH is the only company that works to provide it.
